High Court Scam, using Post Malaysia too....
by: Anonymous

Today, i received a call from this number, +123456, a voice message from Post Malaysia telling that I have an undelivered letter from High Court. If I need to know the details, need to press "0". When I press "0" a man with Chinese accent spoke in Malay to me. He asked my full name and ic no. The told me that the letter had been returned to IPD Bukit Aman and asked for my hp number for the officer to contact me. He gave me a reference number, '5688'.

Soon, after 1 hour, a guy introducing himself as Lans Corporal Hisham Bin Abdullah from BA called me. After asking me the reference number (I gave him '5001'), he said i was involved in a case of using someone's identity. His voice was "authoritative", and asked me to explain why my name appear in the letter (wth?). When he asked me about anything that I don't understand, I asked about the address, he said it is in Johor. Asked again, he said the address is Taman Kencana, Batu Pahat.

When I asked about why High Court letter was returned to BA, he sounds panicked and hug up.

Lucky enough, I did check in the internet about "High Court letter from Bukit Aman" and found a few sites telling us about this scam. Imagine someone who is really worry (like me, initially) received the call......

Bukit Aman Scam - BSP Lai F H
by: Kat

I too got a call this morning from Bukit Aman Police Station. He spoke to me in Cantonese saying that my Citibank credit card was found involved in a money laundering case. There were 24 others found involved.

I was asked to call Bank Negara, Andrew P in Legal Dept to validate all my credit card & bank account numbers. Failing to do so, all my accounts will be terminated in 2 hours time.

I immediately called the Bukit Aman hotline number back 2031-9999 to validate his identity. I was informed by the person in charge that it is a scam and lucky thing I did not share my financial details with anyone else. I was also asked to make a police report for them to pursue further the incident.

Please be careful and aware of such scams happening recently. Bukit Aman representative said they wont just make calls. All communications will be formalise via black & white paper trails.

Inspector Chong - scam
by: Anonymous

I just got a call from this 20319XXX from an Insepctor Choong of Bukit Aman police less than 30mins ago.

The story is very similar - I'm a named suspect in a money laundering case originating from HK. He did give two names of my so-called affiliates that led them to finding my identity documents. And apparently I had a Citibank current account that was used for the money laundering. He was able to recite my ic number when i asked him about it.

He asked me to go to the 3rd floor of bukit aman. I continued to question and after about 10mins of conversation, he asked whether i understood. I replied no. And he hung up.

Be careful everyone.

Bukit Aman Scam
by: Anonymous

Two weeks ago, i received a call from some one from bukit aman saying that my wife involved in a commercial crime and ask me to go to court. I said i am from outstation and will not be able to attend, then i ignore it...

Today i received another call from Inspector Chong (0320319XXX) saying that my wife's idendity been missuse by Lam H H and Yap C H using 5K open an Account in Hong Kong and done some commercial crime, my wife migh be charge under section....

I ask him how do i verify his identidy? He give me these two number (0166129XXX; 0163423XXX) for verification, and he can give my wife's ic no. correctly. He can speak super Bahasa Malaysia and Mandrian.

He ask me to contact the Inspector Low K in Hong Kong (0085265292XXX) to sign a disclaimer letter.

I feel funny, because my wife never went to Hong Kong and the passport even is expired. The police shoud check the with custom then case close. So i did a internet search ... ha ha ... only then i know that "I AM NOT ALONE"

I contacted a lawyer from DAP then he said:" IT'S ALL SCAM DON'T FALL INTO IT, there will call few times and to made sure such case is genuine and then they will said that they can settle the case if you pay X amount of money. He said we can file a police report, and if there call back you just mentioned that we have file a report with the police"

I just want to write it out and worn people that DON'T FALL IN SUCH SCAM.

Received same call today
by: Anonymous

Received a call from ASP Wong, who claimed that HK Interpol has contacted him that 2 guys by the name of Lam XXX and Yap XXX had used my identify to do some money laundering in HK. He asked me to show up at Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah, Jalan Dato Onn, Bukit Peranan, 6th Floor, No.4 at 3.30pm today. He called from this no: 6011 1553 1832 and even gave me the no in HK - 00 852 65207072 in case I want to verify the case.

Then Conman2 called, displaying this no:20319999 & claimed that he called from Bukit Aman and asked me to meet up with him to resolve the case.

Then I called 20319999 out of shock to the real Bukit Aman, where the officer told me to ignore all these calls as these are all scams, which they receive similar calls from public daily.

I just got a shocking call just now. Imagine this scam is so long and still some is not known to this. I'm one of them.

The Caller ASP Cheong - his Bahasa is so bad and unclear, and basically I'm English and Malaysia educated but staying China making me very fluent in Mandarin. My understanding make him talk in Mandarin. His mandarin is fluent without the Malaysian ascent.

One funny thing here while feeling shock at the same time is I'm Chinese and you are reading my name in Chinese(Roman) he spoke MALAY to me!!
Anyway still feel uncomfortable and try to find out the Bukit Aman information on the credit card issue, BANG - many posts on the scam.

Hue... So many of this and identically way of persuasion.

BUKIT AMAN SCAM AGAIN
by: Anonymous

They called my wife's hand phone and asked for me. I returned the call and a lady answered. I asked her what's it about?

The lady adviced me not to answer to this number again.

When I checked on the internet, it seems to be the same scam that had started since 2009.

I was wondering how they got my wife's number? The only company I had left my wife's hand phone number with is from a credit card company whose name starts with "C" and it's not a local company.

Our private information may not be that secure after all. Luckily was not fooled.

I am planning to make a complaint to the said credit card company. May even decide to cancel the card later.

Bukit Aman Scam
by: Anonymous

Hi, I personally received a similar phone call from the same fixed line no. but this time it was Ispector Chong instead. Yes, it was the same story.

I was even asked to call the Hong Kong police station, and if there were any other problems, to call him on his handphone. But I didn't pursue further except to lodged a police report.

I am not expecting too much out of the report except to keep the police up to date.

P/S Thanks for sharing your personal experience. I hope the police do work on it as they have all the necessary information already.
