This building was built in 1910 and was designed by AB Hubback, a British architect who served in Malaya in the early 1900s. The KL Railway Station History goes way back to 1886. It was then known as the Federated Malayan States Railway or Malayan Railway for short.

Like many of AB Hubback's designs, it has a Mugol architecture which was popular and practical in those days, especially in India. Many people mistakenly believed that AB Hubback had served in India before coming to Malaya and thus learning this form of architecture there. In fact he has never been to India.

Apart from this Kuala Lumpur Railway Station, his other famous works were the Ubudiah Mosque in Kuala Kangsar, Perak, and the Masjid Jamek.

This hotel strives to create a 'community based model hotel', which promotes history, arts and culture through friendship and participation in events hosted at the hotel. Come soak up history, come stay with this grand old dame of Kuala Lumpur. Book your holiday here.
