Heavenly Kings Hall
Kek Lok Si
The Kek Lok Si Heavenly Kings Hall is located at the middle section of the temple complex.
The statue of the four gods are
- Kwang Mu or Guadian of the North
Bearing a reptile and pearl with both arms. He is also known as Giant of the North.
- Tou Wen or Guardian of the South
Also known as the Lord of Growth. He wields the Umbrella of Chaos. If he should open the umbrella, then all light will be extinguished and the world will turn to darkness. - Chi Kuo or Guardian of the West
His weapon is the magical Chinese mandolin, a guitar like musical instrument. When he plays the mandolin, evil will be burned and peace will once again be restored.
- Ch'ng Chang or Guardian of the East
With his sword, he is able to launch hundreds of spears like a windstorm.
These four Heavenly Kings guard the four corners of the earth.

In the middle of the hall is Maitreya or the Laughing Buddha. The laughing Buddha represents the center of the universe. He brings happiness, hope and prosperity to the people.
Just a look the the Maitreya is enough to make you feel better.
So if you do go to the Kek Lok Si Temple in Penang, do not forget to visit the Heavenly Kings Hall.
