Kek Lok Si Pavilion Grand Opening - 6th December 2009

The 20 storey high Kek Lok Si Pavilion which shelters the Guan Yin Statue (Goddess of Mercy) will be opening today. Several monks and devotees from around the world are expected to be at the opening ceremony of the Kek Lok Si Pavilion.
The opening ceremony coincides with the 118th anniversary of the Kek Lok Si Temple. This will be the biggest Buddhist event ever held.
There will also be the 20th memorial ceremony for the Venerable Bai Sheng, the chief abbot of the temple. Venerable Bai Sheng is the founder of the Kuan Yin Statue.
There is plan to list the Kek Lok Si Pavilion as the tallest pavilion in the world.
November 2009 - Kek Lok Si Temple Pavilion Almost Complete
The Kek Lok Si Temple Pavilion is almost complete.
Grand opening scheduled for 6th of December 2009.
Guinness Book of World Records
It may be recognized as the tallest Kuan Yin or Goddess of Mercy by the renowned Guinness Book of World Records.
