- To go back to the city, wait at the Bird Park. There are usually taxis prowling for customers there.
Bus
- Take the RapidKL bus numbers B101 or B112. Alight at the Dayabumi Complex and walk (5 minutes) towards Masjid Negara. From there it is a short walk to the park. See the map above for directions. Cost - RM2 per person.
- If you use the KL Hop-On-Hop-Off it will stop at the Kuala Lumpur Butterfly Park. Cost between RM12 to RM65 per person, depending on the package you select.
KTM Kommuter
- Stop at the Old Kuala Lumpur Railway Station. Walk towards Masjid Negara. The Kuala Lumpur Lake Gardens is located right behind the Masjid Negara. This should cost you no more than RM2 per person.
The Kuala Lumpur Butterfly Park, also known as Kuala Lumpur Butterfly Farm, is located in the Kuala Lumpur Lake Gardens ares, close to the KL Bird Park.
It simulates an environment close to the butterflies' natural habitat.
The Butterfly Park houses some
- 6,000 butterflies and over 120 different species of butterflies
- more than 15,000 plants from 100 species used to simulate the Malaysian rainforest.
The Kuala Lumpur Butterfly Park has a beautifully landscaped hydro-pond, with a limestone path right in the centre. Surrounding this hydro-pond is a gazebo that provides a breathtaking view of the park.
You can also visit the nursery and breeding area of the park. It carries both preserved and live specimens. There are more than 1,200 species in its collection.
The souvenir shop near the exit sells many local handicrafts, framed butterflies and beetles, fridge magnets, t-shirts, caps and tote bags.
There is also an informative insect museum.
