About The KL Deer Park
The Kuala Lumpur Deer Park is a 2 hectare enclosure, located in the undulating slopes and valley of Kuala Lumpur Lake Gardens.
It is just a short distance away from the KL Bird Park. From the bird park, turn left and go towards the Tun Razak Memorial. At the junction, take left and walk through the gates into the lake area. The KL Deer Park is located on the left.
You can also reach the deer park from the Memorial Tun Abdul Razak by descending the steps behind this memorial.

From here you'll will be able to see the beautifully landscaped ornamental lake and the popular jogging track that goes around the lake.
Inside the deer park you will be able to see many species of deer. The most interesting for would probably be the mouse deer or kancil. It looks more like a giant rat than and deer.
The mousedeer (Tragulus javanicus), also called chevrotain, is the world's smallest hoofed animal and a popular figure in Malaysian and Indonesian folklore. It is believed to be a very intelligent animal.

How to get to the Lake Gardens Deer Park
Taxi
- By far the simplest way is by taxi. It should cost you no more than RM15 per taxi per way, anywhere within Kuala Lumpur. Alight at the KL Bird Park main entrance. It is a short walk to the Deer Park.
- To go back to the city, wait at the KLBird Park. There are usually taxis prowling for customers there.
Bus
- Take the RapidKL bus numbers B101 or B112. Alight at the Dayabumi Complex and walk (5 minutes) towards Masjid Negara. From there it is a short walk up to the KL Deer Park. Cost - RM2 per person.
- If you use the KL Hop-On-Hop-Off alight at the Memorial Tun Abdul Razak. From here it is a short walk down the steps behind the memorial. Cost between RM12 to RM65 per person, depending on the package you select.
KTM Kommuter
- Stop at the Old Kuala Lumpur Railway Station. Walk towards Masjid Negara. The Kuala Lumpur Lake Gardens is located right behind the Masjid Negara. This should cost you no more than RM2 per person.
