Kechara Soup Kitchen to have its own premise

The KSK group, set up on 2006, will be expanding its services to needy folks once its own premises are ready in April 2010.

With its motto "hunger knows no barriers", the volunteers reach out to the urban poor in the streets of Kuala Lumpur to ensure that they do not spend weekend nights on an empty stomach.

They do their rounds every Saturday and Sunday in various parts of KL. Ruby Khong, the president of KSK, said that they distribute about 700 packets of hot meals to the poor every weekend.

According to Ruby Khong, the KSK group recently acquired a 2 storey building for RM2 million. It plans to expand its services to include
