Love Scam - African in Malaysia

Though I was bored and lonely, I never believed that one can find love on the internet.

How silly I was when a man, through some online chats, said that he loves me and was going to send me a gift from UK.

Then later a woman, who claims to be from a courier company, called saying that I had received an expensive "gift" from the said man and that in order to receive the "gift", I had to pay a certain amount of money for customs tax and service fees.

Being silly and perhaps desperate for love, I paid what was asked by this woman. It was quite a substantial sum.

After waiting and waiting, the "gift" did not arrive. It was then that I realized that I've been conned by this African man who was actually living in Malaysia.

I hope you are smarter than me and not get easily cheated like this.
